Each year the Australian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (ACBC) issues a major Social Justice Statement reflecting on the current, social, economic and ecological challenges.

The 2025 – 2026 Social Justice Statement, “Signs of Hope on the Edge: Serving Homeless People with Mental Ill Health” calls us to follow the example of Jesus, who always noticed, listened to, and cared for those on the edge of society.

In partnership with the Diocese of Parramatta’s Mission Enhancement Team (MET) secondary students are invited to help us build on our commitment to step into the lives of those who are suffering, to befriend them, advocate for them, and journey alongside them.

2025-2026 Social Justice Statement. Signs of Hope om the Edge. Serving homeless people with mental ill-health

Catholic education has a long tradition of social teaching, at the centre of which is the dignity of each person and the common good.

Our students are offered a wide variety of local community activities to help develop a sense of pride, respect and responsibility for themselves and others. This positive approach can be seen in how we interact and learn with one another, work collaboratively and take ownership of our behaviour as well as active involvement in faith-based experiences.
