To teach in a Catholic school it is mandatory that Principals and teachers be accredited in order to ensure the Church's mission and purpose is understood.
What do I need to be eligible to teach?
To be employed as a teacher, whether applying for permanent or casual positions, in the Parramatta Catholic system of schools you require:
- classification by Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta
- eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- compliance with NSW child Protection Legislation - a Working with Children Clearance Check
- classification and eligibility require evidence of qualifications, experience and an authority to work, if not an Australian resident
What do I need to do to meet these requirements?
Follow the link below to complete an application for classification. Certified copies of all supporting documentation, as outlined at the end of the application process, should be submitted to:

Once the supporting documentation has been received and reviewed, your application for classification will be complete.
Apply for a classification with the Diocese of Parramatta
An accreditation decision is required from NESA. If you have not previously registered with NESA, you may apply at the NESA website.
