Classification & Accreditation

Classification & Accreditation

What do I need to be eligible to teach?

To be employed as a teacher, whether applying for permanent or casual positions, in the Parramatta Catholic system of schools you require:

  • classification by the Catholic Education Office, Parramatta
  • eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • compliance with NSW child Protection Legislation - a Working with Children Clearance Check.

Classification and eligibility require evidence of qualifications, experience and an authority to work, if not an Australian resident.

What do I need to do to meet these requirements?

Follow the link below to complete an application for classification. Certified copies of all supporting documentation, as outlined at the end of the application process, should be submitted to:

Classification Officer
Catholic Education Office
Locked Bag 4
North Parramatta NSW 1750

Once the supporting documentation has been received and reviewed, your application for classification will be complete.

An accreditation decision is required from NESA.  If you have not previously registered with NESA, you may apply at the NESA website.
